Abstract
Technological advancement always interacts with the patterns of employment. Changes happen when it is perceived through variations in patterns. The natural rubber boom and the electronic industry have brought a great change in the patterns of employment in Malaysia. From unpaid or irregular wages earning family to a fixed factory job with regular weekly paid wages, to the changes in gender and age structure in the workforce, the technological advancement has affected the employment pattern in Malaysia. The changes caused by the technological advancement is multifarious. Indirectly, it changes the community consumption patterns. More and more young women are easily attracted by the cosmetics, handbags, and direct selling products. Spoken language is affected as there are different dialects being spoken at the workplace. New vocab is generated for local use and understanding. With the new emerge of technology, itinerant hawker food is being threatened by the introduction of fast food. Besides, media also plays an important role in the changes. As the conclusion, technological advancement always comes in a package which is invisible and inexorable. The society needs to be tolerant to accommodate the reestablishment of the finest values of our religion and our religion. At the same time, we should try not to be excesses of xenophobia, chauvinism and fundamentalist fanaticism.
